Binod’s grandfather Bhuramal Das Chaudhary was a textile businessman. Furthermore, his father was also a businessman who continued Bhuramal’s business. Sarika Chaudhary is Binod’s wife. In the 19th century, Binod’s grandfather Bhuramal Das Chaudhary migrated from Rajasthan to Nepal at age of 20. Soon after arrival, Bhuramal started a textile business in the 1930s. Despite the odds of 1934 Nepal-Bihar earthquake, after a few years, he registered a clothing company. It was the first clothing company in Nepal. Also, Binod’s father, Lunkaran continued with the textile business and founded Arun Emporium in 1968. Arun Emporium was a retail store which became his most successful enterprise. Also, Lunkaran Das Chaudhary opened Nepal’s first department store.
Binod stepped into the family business at the age of 18 after his father was diagnosed with heart disease. Also, Binod was the eldest son. He imported Suzuki cars to Nepal. Copper Floor; a discothèque company is his first independent business established in 1973. Moreover, it was a huge success. Chaudhary made his first multinational deal with Japanese electronics firm National Panasonic. In addition, Chaudhary imported National Panasonic’s parts to make radios throughout Nepal.
