Conor Anthony McGregor was born on July 14, 1988, in Crumlin, Dublin. Tony McGregor is his father and Margaret McGregor is his mother. Initially, young Conor developed his passion for association football and played for Lourdes Celtic Football Club. The Irish martial artist began boxing at the age of 12 at Crumlin Boxing Club. His family moved to Lucan, Dublin in 2006 where he met future UFC fighter Tom Egan and started training MMA together.
Conor made his MMA debut in an amateur fight against Kieran Campbell at the age of 18 on February 17, 2007. He won the match via Technical Knockout (TKO) in the first round.
