Djokovic was born in Belgrade, SR Serbia, Yugoslavia on May 22, 1987. His father name is Srđan Djokovic and Dijana Djokovic is his mother. The Serbian began playing tennis when he was 4 years of age. When Djokovic was 6 years of age in 1993, Yugoslav tennis player Jelena Genčić spotted his talents and recognized him as a huge talent. Genčić worked with Novak at a very young age.
